Sarah Eleanor Braden (1811-1828)

Sarah Eleanor Braden was born 8 May 1811 in Loudoun Co., Virginia.  Her parents were Robert Braden and Elizabeth (Stevens) Braden.  JosephAddison Braden was her twin brother.  I have always suspected that the twins, Sarah and Joseph, were named for their paternal grandparents, Sarah (Wright) and Joseph Braden.

I have not found much about Sarah.  Her family was living in the Waterford area during the years of her childhood.   She is named as one of Robert Braden’s children in his will dated 28 June 1827.  Her father died 14 November 1827. 

Sarah died 19 December 1828.  She was 17 years old.  She is buried in the Catoctin Free Church Cemetery near Waterford, Loudoun Co., Virginia.  Here is a link to her Find A Grave memorial. 

There are a number of references to Sarah in probate and chancery records relating to the settling of her father’s estate.

I have so far found no letters, obituaries, or other contemporary documents about Sarah.
