On 14 June 1810, the following allotment of dower was made and recorded for Sarah Braden: "Agreeable to the within Order we have provided to allott unto Sarah Braden Widow & Relict of Joseph Bradens Deceased her dower in said Estate and do allott to her one negro Lad named Alexander and one negro girl named Jane, given under our hands this 14th day of June 1810. Sanford Ramey, Abiel Janney, W.S. Neale, N.B. we made no allotment of the Land the Widow having agreed with John Braden to take a stipulated rent in lieu of her Dividend of the Land. W.S.Neale, Abiel Janney, Sanford Ramey At a court held for Loudoun County the 13th day of May 1811 This allotment of dower was returned & Ordered to be recorded. Teste C Binns Cl.C."

called Jeremiah Hill. In color, Jerry is
rather a light mustee, between dark mulatto and black, - his mother was a
mulatto, and father black. Jerry is now
about 21 years of age, rather tall and tolerably well made-- in height from 5
feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches. He smiles
readily when spoken to. He took his
clothes with him - of these, few are recollected, except two pair of linnen
pataloons, one pair light blue - mixed cassinet - the last pair given to him
last Whitsentide. If taken in Virginia,
I will give 50 dollars, or 100 dollars if taken in any other State and returned
to me, or lodged in jail, so that I may get him again. MARY VANDEVENTER.
N.B.- It has been ascertained that Capt. Rose's
Peter, who ran off from W. D. Drish, the week before, has been lurking about

Then in the statement of account for the period beginning 12 Sept 1848, is listed "burial items for old Milly, hire of Charles, Sarah Ellen, and Mary Jane."
