The Tangled Web They Wove

I started working on posts about the children of Joseph Braden (d 1810) and his wife, Sarah Wright, and I have completed a couple of them.  In the midst of reviewing my research on that family, I was contacted by another researcher and am now off on a tangent of sorts.

Over the course of a couple of days, there are now five Braden-related researchers 'talking' about the things they've found and trying to sort out the various connections.  It is a lot of fun, but certainly a tangle.

We have found several families related to the Bradens of Loudoun Co. that will need further research: Charlesworth, Bartleson, Fox, McKemie (McKimmey), McClean, Fletcher, Adams, Todd, Wright, Humphreys, Knight and others.  These families all appear with Bradens, not just in Loudoun, but also in the greater Philadelphia area.  Some seem to have gone with them to New Jersey.  Others seem to have gone to North Carolina.

It is a big tangled web of clues, but the threads seem to lean to Philadelphia.

While we have not sorted it out yet, and maybe never will, it is the first chip in the Braden brick wall that I've yet found.

More to come, I hope.
