Mysteries from A Hankinson Attic - A Group of Young Ladies
There is no identification on this picture that came from the attic of the John R. Jones home in Hankinson, North Dakota. It appears to be a teacher, perhaps?, with a group of female students? Notice the animal head in the lower left corner (part of a rug, I think). The young lady in the back by the window looks rather spunky with her hair loose and hands on her hips.
The only clue about this photo is that it was taken by Griffin Artistic Photographs, 117 Public Sq., Wilkes Barre, PA.
The only Wilkes Barre connection I know of is that Daniel R. Jones' wife, Ethel Koerner, was from Wilkes Barre and Ethel and Dan were married there in 1910. Perhaps one of these young ladies is Ethel?
UPDATE: Ethel Koerner has been identified as the girl second from the left in the front row. Here is a crop:
