I found a Carlton Arthur Thomas born 23 March 1898, died June 1981 residing his whole life in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  This is probably him.

I found a Clinton Randall Kidder born 9 August 1916 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota; died 9 May 2006.  Parents: Clinton B. Kidder and Helen L. Randall.

"Evan W. and Harold Matthias to Aunt Kit"   No dates; no surnames.  

No surnames, but Aunt Kit was probably Katherine "Kitty" Jones Novak, so these boys were her nephews.
