Edward J. Roberts, 1857-1949

Edward J. Roberts was a classmate of John R. Jones at Ripon College, Ripon, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in the early 1880s.

These two photographs were taken at Lockwood's Temple of Photographic Art in Ripon, Wisconsin in 1880.

I found E. J. Roberts on the 1880 census in Ripon listed right next to John R. Jones in a boarding house for students of Ripon College.

A little research tells me that Edward Jerome Roberts was born 9 September 1857 in Wisconsin.  His father was Evan Roberts and his mother was Elizabeth Williams.  His parents were both born in Wales.  He attended Ripon College in 1880.  On 13 December 1883, he married Mary Jane Tracy in Ontario, Canada.   He died 14 September 1949 in Spokane, Washington.
