Well, for all my good intentions, I have still not been able to do regular blog posts and for that, I am sorry. Maybe after the holidays? I can only hope. Anyway, here is a short post so that you will see I am still out here!
The following postcard was sent to John S. Jones, Hankinson, North Dakota from Mrs. J. M. Smith and postmarked Green Bay, Wisconsin on 24 December 1913.
Here is a transcription of the message: "Dear John: I Hope you arrived home safely & know that you are having a good time with your family but I just want to say A Merry Christmas to you. Lovingly Mrs. J. M. Smith."
Here is my post on John S. Jones.
I don't recognize "Mrs. J. M. Smith." I did a quick search but did not turn up any J. M. Smith in Green Bay, Wisconsin ca 1913.
A place to share my research with family, genealogists, historians and researchers.

Mayflower Ancestors
With Thanksgiving fast approaching, I thought I'd do a quick post about my husband's Mayflower ancestry. This line is another that needs further research, but I am confident enough of it to post this basic outline.
Updated Nov. 22, 2017: I recently discovered a new Mayflower website with biographies of the passengers that is in commemoration of the upcoming 400th anniversary of the ship's landing in America. I've added links to that site.
My husband's three known Mayflower ancestors are Richard Warren, Francis Cooke, and his son, John Cooke. These three men came to America on the Mayflower in 1620. Richard Warren's wife, Elizabeth (Walker), and his daughter, Sarah Warren, came to Plymouth Colony in 1623 on the ship Anne. Also on the Anne were Francis Cooke's wife, Hester Mahieu, and children. John Cooke and Sarah Warren were married in Plymouth Colony in 1634.

There is a wealth of information available on these individuals, so I will not go into that here.
So my husband descends from John Cooke (son of Francis Cooke and Hester Mahieu) and Sarah Warren (daughter of Richard Warren and Elizabeth Walker). Here is the line:
