Organizing Old Photographs

I am still here!
I am starting to miss writing blog posts, and hope to get back to regular postings soon.

Just because I'm not writing, that doesn't mean I'm not working on family history.  I've been focused lately on sorting, scanning, labeling, and organizing my photos.

I have photo albums that I have personally kept since the late 1960s.  Some of those are the old "magnetic" type albums & the photos in them need to be removed & put in archival sleeves.

I have lots of ancestral photos that I've been given over the years.  These are not organized at all, so I am trying to tame that mess.

I have photos that are on loan to me so I can scan them.

And I have a file drawer half full of loose pictures that need sorted.

I've made progress.  The photos in my personal albums are now all scanned.

But still lots to do.

I thought it would be boring, but actually it is kind of interesting and fun.  The things I'm finding that I'd forgotten!  Here are a few interesting things:

These photos were given to me in the late 1970s by Marycarol Jones and are from her time as a missionary in India (ca 1927 - 1933).  I did a little bit of research to identify the men.  I'm posting both the front & back of the pictures that Marycarol identified herself.

Marycarol noted that Anand (1908-1947) was the nephew of Jawaharlal Nehru (below).
